CHALET SESSIONS
WHAT IS IT?
Chalet Sessions is a music video production company that aims to showcase Swiss music artists (or international music artists who are passing by) in Switzerland, taking advantage of the beautiful landscapes and the unique, traditional home setting of the Chalets. Founded by Soraia Binz, Jeremy Moser and Ewan Hails, the Chalet Sessions team bring in videographers, audio engineers and PAs to help out with setting up the session that music artists have booked and record their performances indoors and/or outdoots.
PHOTOGRAPHY, VIDEOGRAPHY & PA WORK
Fascinated by the Chalet Sessions' works as well as the talents involved, Julia Handschin joined the Chalet Sessions as a PA for nearly two years, assisting both videographers and audio engineers. At times, she was given the role of photographer to document the sessions (for the sessions of Don't Kill the Beast, Craig Cardiff, Toby May and Transistor Girl) and has assisted as a camera operator (Craig Cardiff).
Her work on Chalet Sessions has allowed Julia to learn more about video production techniques regarding lighting and composition in music videos, as well as get familiar with documenting the process and the people on set.
